Barton Community College’s Music and Drama Departments have announced plans to present Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” as the college’s 25th spring musical.

The college presents a major Broadway musical every other year in the spring, including college students and community members in the cast, orchestra and crew.

“This musical will be one of the largest productions yet produced by the College,” said Vern Fryberger, Barton’s Director of Choral Activities. “The show includes complicated sets, large production numbers, elaborate costumes and a cast of 25 to 30.” In addition to the cast, there are numerous opportunities for people to participate by helping with set construction, running the show and costuming, he added.

Performances are set for March 5, 6 and 7 in the college’s Fine Arts Auditorium. Auditions will be held in November and rehearsals begin in January. Additional audition information will be announced later.

All questions should be directed to Fryberger, 620-792-9395.
