Barton Community College’s Music and Drama Departments have announced auditions for the college’s spring musical, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”

The auditions are set for 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Sunday, Nov. 29, on the stage in Barton’s Fine Arts Auditorium, and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, in the Fine Arts Building, Room F-145. Audition instructions and materials are now available online by clicking the “Beauty and the Beast” button on the opening page of Barton’s Web site, www.bartonccc.edu.

College students and community members are invited to audition. The cast will include seven men, four women, one boy and a large ensemble to play multiple additional roles.

Those planning to audition should review the information on the Web page and choose the part or parts for which they would like to try out, then prepare to read the indicated text from the script and sing the indicated cutting from the song. No appointment is necessary to participate in the auditions.

Performances are set for March 5, 6 and 7 in the college’s Fine Arts Auditorium. Barton’s director of choral activities Vern Fryberger is production manager and musical director. Instrumental music director Steven Lueth will conduct the orchestra.
